To start an EP Grant or EP Validation filing or translation project or estimate, enter a valid application or publication number to take full advantage of the automation the portal offers.


The Overview page populates most data from online sources but allows edits.


Fields that appear in gray come from online sources and are locked for editing. If read-only fields need to be modified, changes can be requested in the Files & Instructions step.



The EP Grant option allows you to setup a project/estimate for response to 71(3) communication. This includes claims translation and any associated filing fees. Validation jurisdictions can be optionally added.


The EP Validation option allows project setup for validation phase only.


Filtered Jurisdiction List in EP Estimates

When creating EP estimates, you will now see a more focused jurisdiction selection list, based on the following data from EP Register:

  • • Designated Contracting States
  • • Extension and Validation States where fees have been paid

Jurisdictions with paid fees have a date next to them on EP Register:

Displaying only relevant jurisdictions for the given application reduces the possibility of errors.

In some cases, Extension and Validation States are listed on EP Register with an indication that the fee has not been paid.

These jurisdictions are filtered out of the selection list.
